Condition:There are small tears at the seam of the first four pages, like anxious little hands wanted to quickly pass through them to the first story and a little wear on the corners of the cover. Otherwise, this book is in great condition. There are 8 fantastic Marjorie Hartwell colored plates interspersed between the stories. They are as vibrant as the day the book was given to Susan in 1949. There is hardly any evidence of use on most pages. All of the Marjorie Hartwell Illustrations which appear in the book are pen are pen and ink colored in grades of red. This is truly a find for collectors looking children’s books.
